The idea for the Zionsville Village Residents’ Association started in 1996 as the brainchild of Mary Jane Phillippe and Jean Apple. The initial meeting took place with a group of eight individuals who resided in and loved the Village of Zionsville and were concerned with preserving a community that was precious to them.

By February, 1998, they held their first meeting with a group of about 20 Village residents and Jean was soon appointed the association’s first president.

Today the membership of the VRA numbers about 125 and is growing. Meetings are usually held bi-monthly and typically include presentations by speakers ranging from local community leaders to topics like maintaining home values. The meetings also offer a chance to meet neighbors and find out what’s going on in the community. Annual events include a fall picnic and a holiday progressive dinner.

The VRA offers opportunities for Village residents to get involved with our community and learn about issues that affect our neighborhood. Most of all, the VRA is still committed to the ideas it was founded upon…taking care of what’s best about life here in our Village.

For more information, check out How To Join or attend our next meeting. If you’re not a member already and you live in the Village, we urge you to become a part of this great organization.
