The holidays are in full swing, and I hope all of you are enjoying the season so far! With
Christmas around the corner myself and the VRA leadership team, want to wish all of you a
Joyful Holiday season and a Happy New Year.

It has been an eventful year in the Village and for the VRA. We have tried some new ideas and
kept some old ones. We began the year by moving our meetings to quarterly as opposed to
every month. We choose to show-case new businesses coming into the Village, have guest
speakers who have unique or interesting stories to tell, and have hosted discussions with town
leaders on important topics that can have an effect on Village residents. We also instituted a
wine and cheese reception for members prior to each VRA meeting, and finally we had Food
Truck Mondays at Lincoln Park during the month of June! We continued the traditions of our
porch party, summer picnic on the bricks and progressive dinner as well.

I would like to say a big thank-you to all those volunteers who make these events happen and
to the leadership team who work so hard to keep the VRA a relevant part of the community.
In the coming year we will continue to face changes to our beloved village. The new
Comprehensive Plan will be adopted which will set the course of the town for the next 20 years,
and a significant road re-alignment project will impact both village residents and businesses in
the coming months. Our hope is that these and other projects, including the refresh of Lincoln
Park will serve to make our community even more attractive and desirable as a place to live,
work, and play.

Please keep an eye out for an announcement about a survey the VRA is sponsoring to gage the
opinion of residents about the new Comprehensive Plan. The responses will be compiled and
shared with Town Council members prior to their vote to adopt the plan so please take a few
minutes to complete the online survey and submit it.
Finally, I have very much enjoyed leading the VRA this past year and look forward to the coming
year and the role the VRA can play in making our village the “heart and soul” of Zionsville!!
As always, your ideas and comments are welcome so, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me
at any time!

PS….speaking of road realignment, check out the 1875 picture of Main Street! Mud Street more
like it!

Regards,
Mark
