Upcoming Events:

    • Tuesday, December 31:   Unscramble our Shelves! from 9:30am-1:00pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library.  Adults and Teens (14+).  End 2019 by helping to tidy up the library’s shelves in the Youth Department.  If you know your ABC’s and 123’s and would like to help them accomplish the huge task, they could use your help.  If you would like to volunteer for this project, please register online.  If you have 1 hour or 5 hours to spare, they would be happy to have your assistance.  
    • Wednesday, January 1:   Happy New Year!
    • Wednesday, January 1:  Zionsville Mayoral Inauguration & Reception from 2:00-4:00pm at Town Hall.  Please join the Town of Zionsville as they celebrate the inauguration of Mayor Emily Styron.  The new mayor will be sworn in by State Senator J.D. Ford.  The ceremony will be followed by a reception with musical performance by Chad Mills.  This event is free and open to the public, however space is limited, please register for a ticket on Eventbrite.  
    • Thursday, January 2:  Coloring Xtravaganza from 10:00am-2:00pm at Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library.  They will have a variety of coloring sheets for all ages and a variety of materials for coloring them.  Stop by and color with them.  
      • No registration necessary.  Ages 3-12.
    • Friday, January 3:   Zion Nature Center is OPEN.
      Friday, January 3:  Christmas Bird Count for Kids from 8:30am-12:00pm at Zion Nature Center.  Whether your child is curious about the natural world and loves to go birding or has never birded before.  Amos Butler Audubon Volunteers will help your child discover birding and hopefully light the curiosity for nature within them.  The FREE event will include a session on birding basics, 90 minutes of birding fun, data collection, wrap up and awards ceremony.  Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them. Dress for cold weather and hiking.  Ages 5-15 years with an adult.  
    • Friday, January 3:  ”Art after Five” from 5:00-8:00pm at Art IN Hand (211 S. Main Street).  Art IN Hand Gallery will be featuring student artwork in January from Boone Meadows Elementary. 
      •  This is an excellent opportunity for everyone to view the new student artwork on display.  Stop by for light refreshments and enjoy all the artwork.
    • Saturday, January 4:  Nature Treasure Boxes from 10:00-11:00am at Zion Nature Center.  Whether you are young or old, does exploring outdoors mean a collection of rocks, leaves, flowers, and sticks?  We’ll be making our own nature treasure boxes so all these little collected treasures have a place to call home.  Registration is required as space is limited.  Fee:  $5 per person.
