August Village Voice Presidents Message
Well, its August and we are still living under a major heat dome!! Hopefully things
will begin to cool off soon and we can begin to enjoy spending time outside
again!!
Preparations for our October meeting are underway and I’m happy to announce
we are going to feature not one but two local businesses at this meeting! Both are
very popular, and I think you will enjoy sampling their products and hearing their
stories!! I will provide more detail in next month’s Village Voice!
I have learned from Mayor Stehr that the comprehensive plan is behind schedule
due in part to some financial changes that the town is going to experience due to
the property tax bill passed by the legislature this session. As soon as a new
schedule is available I will include it in the next communication. Here is the link to
the site if you want to check it. https://www.uniquelyzionsville.com
You may have seen an increase in police presence on Village streets over the last
few weeks, or radar traffic signs at different points around the Village. This is a
result of Police Chief Spears timely response to the VRA raising concerns about
speeding in the Village. They are collecting data and have agreed to share it with
the VRA when complete. I will discuss the results at the October meeting.
The Zionsville Picnic on the Bricks hosted by the VRA is on September 13 th . The
picnic will be on Main Street north of Walnut and begins at 6:00 PM. This event is
great fun and very popular. The picnic is open to all Zionville residents and
guests!!
The next VRA meeting will be held on October 21st at the SullivanMunce. The
wine and cheese reception will start at 6:15 and last until 7:00 when the official
meeting will begin. If you have not yet paid your dues, you may do so at the
reception. We will have a check-in table with name tags as you enter.
As always if you have any items you would specifically like to see addressed in our
meetings, please let me know.

Regards,
Mark
